The American economist Clarence Danhof classified entrepreneurs into four types on the basis of their attitude towards innovation and change: innovating (create something new), imitative/adoptive (copy others' innovations), Fabian (very cautious, change only when forced) and drone (refuse to change and may be driven out of business).

Danhof's Classification of Entrepreneurs
