Bending a wire of length l into a circle gives radius r = l/(2π); the loop's magnetic moment is m = iA = i l²/(4π).

When a wire of length ll is bent into a circular loop, the circumference equals ll:

2πr=l  ⟹  r=l2π2\pi r = l \implies r = \dfrac{l}{2\pi}

Area enclosed by the loop:

A=πr2=π(l2π)2=l24πA = \pi r^2 = \pi \left(\dfrac{l}{2\pi}\right)^2 = \dfrac{l^2}{4\pi}
