"Dicondylic" means the skull articulates with the vertebral column through two occipital condyles, as seen in humans and other mammals.

The human skull is attached to the vertebral column at the atlanto-occipital joint. On the occipital bone, at the margin of the foramen magnum, there are two rounded, smooth, bony projections called occipital condyles.
