Older adults follow the same aerobic and muscle-strengthening targets as adults 18-64, plus a balance-exercise addition aimed at fall prevention.

The textbook's WHO table for Older Adults 65+ gives: Aerobic activities — 150-300 minutes/week moderate intensity, or 75-150 minutes/week vigorous intensity, with any single bout lasting at least 10 minutes; Muscle-strengthening activities — involving the major muscle groups, on 2 or more days a week; and Balance-enhancing activities — specifically recommended for older adults with poor mobility, to prevent falls, on 3 or more days a week.
