- Common economic interests: the chapter notes that the 2000 division of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar (creating Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand) was partly "to meet the need for greater administrative efficiency," which touches economic/administrative viability.
