Population Control Measures

Family planning is the practice of spacing or preventing the birth of children. It is not just about limiting the number of births — it is a direct tool for population control. The textbook makes a clear link: access to family planning services is a significant factor in limiting population growth and, at the same time, improving women’s health. This is the core idea — controlling population is tied to the well-being of women.

Several practical measures are listed that can help achieve population control:

  • Propaganda — spreading awareness and information about the benefits of small families and family planning methods.
  • Free availability of contraceptives — making birth control devices and medicines accessible at no cost so that economic barriers do not prevent their use.
