Emotional Intelligence is the ability to recognise, understand, and regulate emotions in yourself and in others. It's the skill that determines how you handle stress, how you work in a team, how you lead, and how you bounce back from failure.

Emotional Intelligence is the capacity to be aware of, control, and express one's emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.

The term was popularised by psychologist Daniel Goleman, who broke it down into four core domains:
