- Time Saved = Time Allowed − Time Taken = 40 − 30 = 10 hours
- Basic (Time) Wages = Time Taken × Rate = 30 × ₹20 = ₹600
(a) Halsey Premium Plan (bonus = 50% of value of time saved):
- Bonus = 50% × Time Saved × Rate = 50% × 10 × ₹20 = ₹100
- Total Earnings = Basic Wages + Bonus = ₹600 + ₹100 = ₹700
- Effective hourly rate = Total ÷ Time Taken = ₹700 ÷ 30 = ₹23.33 per hour
(b) Halsey-Weir Plan (bonus = 30% of value of time saved):
- Bonus = 30% × Time Saved × Rate = 30% × 10 × ₹20 = ₹60
- Total Earnings = ₹600 + ₹60 = ₹660
- Effective hourly rate = ₹660 ÷ 30 = ₹22.00 per hour
| Item | Halsey (50%) | Halsey-Weir (30%) |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Wages (30 × ₹20) | ₹600 | ₹600 |
| Bonus (% × 10 × ₹20) | ₹100 | ₹60 |
