According to recent government (Economic Survey) estimates, around 2023-24, the tertiary (services) sector contributes roughly half or a little more of India's total Gross Value Added (GVA) — more than the secondary (industrial) sector, which contributes roughly a quarter, and far more than the primary (agriculture and allied) sector, which contributes only around a sixth.
