  • The hypothalamus secretes GnRH (Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone).
  • GnRH stimulates box A = the anterior pituitary gland (adenohypophysis) to secrete two gonadotropins: LH and FSH.
  • LH (Luteinising Hormone, also called Interstitial Cell Stimulating Hormone in males) acts on box C = the Leydig cells (interstitial cells) of the testis, stimulating them to secrete androgens (mainly testosterone), which in turn stimulate the various processes of spermatogenesis. …
