Limitations of Bohr Model

Despite successfully explaining hydrogen's spectrum, Bohr's model has several well-documented limitations. It fails to account for the finer details of the hydrogen spectrum that show up under high-resolution spectroscopy. It cannot explain the spectra of any atom OTHER than hydrogen (or other one-electron, hydrogen-like species) — the moment more than one electron is present, inter-electron repulsion breaks the simple picture. It cannot explain the splitting of spectral lines that is observed when atoms are placed in an external magnetic field (the Zeeman effect) or an external electric field (the Stark effect).
