Relative permittivity, also called the DIELECTRIC CONSTANT of a medium and denoted ϵr\epsilon_r or K, is defined as the ratio of the medium's own absolute permittivity ϵ\epsilon to the permittivity of free space ϵ0\epsilon_0: ϵr=ϵϵ0.\epsilon_r=\frac{\epsilon}{\epsilon_0}.
