Factor the pair of straight lines and solve the two linear equations simultaneously.

x2−y2−2x+1=0x^2-y^2-2x+1=0

  ⟹  (x2−2x+1)−y2=0\implies (x^2-2x+1)-y^2=0

  ⟹  (x−1)2−y2=0\implies (x-1)^2-y^2=0

  ⟹  (x−1−y)(x−1+y)=0\implies (x-1-y)(x-1+y)=0

So the two lines are:

x−y−1=0andx+y−1=0x-y-1=0 \quad\text{and}\quad x+y-1=0
