Q.What is circular motion?
Motion of a particle along the circumference of a circle — every particle of the object traces a circular path about a point or an axis.
Circular motion is the motion of a particle along the circumference of a circle. For an extended object it appears in two forms: REVOLUTION, when the circling is about a point or axis OUTSIDE the object (the Earth around the Sun, a stone on a string), and ROTATION, when the axis passes THROUGH the object itself (a fan's blades, a spinning top). Its two defining characteristics: it is always an ACCELERATED motion (the velocity's direction changes continuously even at constant speed) and it is a PERIODIC motion (the particle retraces the same path repeatedly).
