The Gulf of Kachchh in Gujarat is the single best place to study coral reefs, mangrove vegetation, and estuaries together, since all three occur there in close proximity; the Sundarbans in West Bengal is an excellent site for mangroves and estuaries, but its low-salinity deltaic waters do not support coral reefs.

The most comprehensive location to study all three — coral reefs, mangroves, and estuaries — is the Gulf of Kachchh in Gujarat. This region is famous for the Marine National Park, which protects one of India's most significant coral reef areas. The Gulf itself is a large estuary; along its muddy shores and islands you find dense mangrove forests.

Another outstanding place is the Sundarbans in West Bengal, the world's largest delta, well known for its mangrove vegetation and estuarine ecosystem — but less useful for studying coral reefs, which are rare in its muddy, low-salinity waters. …
