Glyoxysomes

The glyoxysome was discovered by Harry Beevers in 1961. Like the peroxisome, it is a single-membrane-bound sub-cellular organelle, but its enzyme content is different and more specialised: a glyoxysome carries the specific set of enzymes belonging to the glyoxylate pathway.
