De Broglie proposed that every moving particle has an associated wavelength λ = h/p, linking its wave and particle characters.

Louis de Broglie proposed that matter, like radiation, has a dual (wave-particle) nature. Just as a photon of momentum p is associated with a wave of wavelength λ = h/p, de Broglie suggested that a material particle of momentum p should likewise have an associated wave, called the de Broglie wave (or matter wave), of wavelength:
