Bond Parameters
When we talk about a chemical bond, we are not just saying that two atoms are "connected." A bond has measurable physical properties — length, strength, polarity, and direction. These are called bond parameters, and they determine the shape, stability, and reactivity of every molecule.
The four fundamental bond parameters are: bond length, bond angle, bond enthalpy, and bond order. Each one gives us a different piece of information about how atoms are held together.
