Mole Fraction

Mole fraction is the ratio of the number of moles of one component to the total number of moles of all components in the solution. If substance A dissolves in substance B, with nAn_A and nBn_B moles respectively:

Mole fraction of A (xA)=nAnA+nB\text{Mole fraction of A } (x_A) = \frac{n_A}{n_A + n_B}

Mole fraction of B (xB)=nBnA+nB\text{Mole fraction of B } (x_B) = \frac{n_B}{n_A + n_B} …
