(i) In [Co(NH3)5Br]SO4, sulfate is the counter ion, free in solution, so adding BaCl2 solution instantly gives a white precipitate of BaSO4. In [Co(NH3)5SO4]Br, sulfate is coordinated directly to Co (inside the square brackets) and Br- is the free counter ion instead — this compound does NOT give an immediate BaSO4 precipitate with BaCl2 (the coordinated sulfate doesn't ionise readily), but does give an immediate precipitate of AgBr with AgNO3, unlike the first compound (whose Br- is coordinated).
