Part (a): Kheda in Gujarat — the 1918 Kheda Satyagraha centre.

Part (b): Bombay (Maharashtra coast) under British control; Agra (Yamuna, UP) the Mughal imperial capital.

Part (c): Mysore in south Karnataka; the Harappan A/B/C points read from the map (Harappa, Mohenjodaro, Lothal, etc.).

Part (d): three mature Harappan sites — Harappa, Mohenjodaro, Lothal.

This map question moves across three periods. The three points A, B and C can only be named precisely by reading their positions on the printed map; without it, name the well-known sites that fit the category.

Kheda – National Movement. Kheda (also spelled Kaira) is a district of Gujarat close to Ahmedabad. It became famous during the Kheda Satyagraha of 1918: after crop failure the peasants sought remission of land revenue, the British refused, and Gandhi led an early Indian experiment in Satyagraha — a disciplined no-tax campaign. On the map it lies in central-eastern Gujarat.

Part (b)

Bombay – British control (1857); Agra – Mughal imperial capital. Bombay (Mumbai) is on the western coast of Maharashtra. By 1857 it was one of the three Presidency capitals (with Calcutta and Madras) and stayed firmly under British control while much of the north rose in revolt. Agra lies on the Yamuna in western Uttar Pradesh, about 200 km south of Delhi; it served as the Mughal imperial capital under Akbar, Jahangir and (before Shahjahanabad) Shah Jahan, and houses the Agra Fort and the Taj Mahal.
