Operating = Nil (given); Investing = ₹(4,36,000); Financing = ₹5,06,000; net increase in cash ₹70,000, closing Cash & Cash Equivalents ₹3,00,000.

Approach

AS-3 splits cash movements into Operating, Investing and Financing. Operating cash flow is given as Nil, so we build only the Investing and Financing sections; together they must equal the actual change in cash, 3,00,000−2,30,000=70,0003{,}00{,}000 - 2{,}30{,}000 = 70{,}000.

Working Notes

Machinery sold: book value ₹60,000 with depreciation ₹20,000 ⇒ original cost =80,000= 80{,}000. Sold at a loss of ₹6,000 ⇒ sale proceeds =60,000−6,000=54,000= 60{,}000 - 6{,}000 = 54{,}000.

Depreciation for the year: 1,30,000+20,000 (on asset sold)−70,000=80,0001{,}30{,}000 + 20{,}000\ (\text{on asset sold}) - 70{,}000 = 80{,}000.

Plant & Machinery purchased (cost): 16,30,000+80,000 (cost of asset sold)−11,70,000=5,40,00016{,}30{,}000 + 80{,}000\ (\text{cost of asset sold}) - 11{,}70{,}000 = 5{,}40{,}000.

Goodwill purchased: 2,80,000−1,70,000=1,10,0002{,}80{,}000 - 1{,}70{,}000 = 1{,}10{,}000.

8% Debentures redeemed: 4,00,000−1,00,000=3,00,0004{,}00{,}000 - 1{,}00{,}000 = 3{,}00{,}000 (on 1 July 2018).

Interest on 8% debentures paid (a financing outflow): ₹4,00,000 for Apr–Jun (3 months) then ₹1,00,000 for Jul–Mar (9 months):

4,00,000×8%×312+1,00,000×8%×912=8,000+6,000=14,0004{,}00{,}000 \times 8\% \times \tfrac{3}{12} + 1{,}00{,}000 \times 8\% \times \tfrac{9}{12} = 8{,}000 + 6{,}000 = 14{,}000.

Share capital issued: 19,00,000−11,00,000=8,00,00019{,}00{,}000 - 11{,}00{,}000 = 8{,}00{,}000.

Changes in Surplus, Provision for Tax and Trade Receivables are operating items and are already subsumed in the given Nil operating figure.
