Given: P=10000P = 10000, R=10%R = 10\% p.a., n=3n = 3 years, compounded annually.

Method 1 — compound-amount formula.

A=P(1+R100)n=10000(1+10100)3=10000(1.1)3.A = P\left(1 + \dfrac{R}{100}\right)^{n} = 10000\left(1 + \dfrac{10}{100}\right)^{3} = 10000(1.1)^{3}.

Since (1.1)3=1.331(1.1)^3 = 1.331, A=10000×1.331=13310A = 10000 \times 1.331 = 13310, and CI=A−P=13310−10000=3310CI = A - P = 13310 - 10000 = 3310.

Method 2 — independent check (year-by-year build-up).
