A notice is a short, formal announcement put up on a notice board to inform a specific group of people (students, staff, members) about an event, meeting, loss, or instruction.

Formal & Informal Invitations and Replies

An invitation asks someone to attend an event; a reply accepts or declines it. The task carries about 4 marks and a limit of roughly 50 words.

Letters to the Editor

A letter to the editor is a formal letter written to a newspaper or magazine to draw public and official attention to an issue - a civic problem, a social concern, a suggestion, or an opinion.

Job Application with Bio-data / Resume

A job application is a formal letter written in response to an advertisement, applying for a post. In Class 12 it is written as a letter plus an attached bio-data (resume).

Business/Official Letters

A business or official letter is a formal letter exchanged between a customer and a firm, or between offices, to transact work. It carries about 5 marks, word limit 120-150 words.

Article Writing

An article is a piece of writing for a newspaper or magazine that discusses a topic, presents a viewpoint, and informs or persuades the reader. It carries about 5 marks, word limit 120-150 words.

Report Writing

A report is a factual, objective account of an event that has already happened - written for a newspaper or a school magazine. It carries about 5 marks, word limit 120-150 words.

Good grammar is what earns the Expression marks in every Section B task, and error-based/editing items appear in integrated writing contexts.
