Given a point (x1,y1)(x_1, y_1) and the slope mm, the point-slope form of the line is

y−y1=m(x−x1)y - y_1 = m(x - x_1)

With (x1,y1)=(1,4)(x_1, y_1) = (1, 4) and m=2m = 2:

y−4=2(x−1)y - 4 = 2(x - 1)

y−4=2x−2y - 4 = 2x - 2

y=2x+2y = 2x + 2

In general form this is 2x−y+2=02x - y + 2 = 0. …
