Homogeneous Equation

An equation in which every term has the same degree is called a homogeneous equation. For instance x2+3xy=0x^2+3xy=0, 7xy−2y2=07xy-2y^2=0, and 5x2+3xy−2y2=05x^2+3xy-2y^2=0 are all homogeneous, because in each case every term listed has degree two. By contrast, 3x2+2xy+2y2+5x=03x^2+2xy+2y^2+5x=0 is not homogeneous, because the term 5x5x has degree one while the other terms have degree two -- the degrees are not all equal. …
