Step 1. Cutting is the method of producing a new plant by severing a plant part - root (Malus), stem (Hibiscus, Bougainvillea, Moringa) or leaf (Begonia, Bryophyllum) - from the parent and placing it in a suitable medium, where it produces roots and grows into a new plant; stem cutting is the most widely used form.
