MS medium and White's medium are two examples of the nutrient media used to grow plant tissue cultures.

Working

In plant tissue culture, the nutrient (culture) medium supplies the explant with all the nutrients it needs to grow and differentiate outside the parent plant -- macronutrients, micronutrients, a carbon source (usually sucrose), vitamins, amino acids, plant growth regulators (auxins/cytokinins), and, for a solid medium, a gelling agent such as agar.
