Using Rt=R0(1+αt)R_t=R_0(1+\alpha t) with R0=10 ΩR_0=10\ \Omega, α=0.004 °C−1\alpha=0.004\,°C^{-1}, t=100°Ct=100°C gives R100=14 ΩR_{100}=14\ \Omega.

Working

The resistance of a conductor at temperature tt (°C), given its resistance R0R_0 at 0°C0°C and temperature coefficient of resistance α\alpha:

Rt=R0(1+αt)R_t=R_0(1+\alpha t)

Substituting R0=10 ΩR_0=10\ \Omega, α=0.004 °C−1\alpha=0.004\ °C^{-1}, and t=100°Ct=100°C (boiling point of water):

R100=10(1+0.004×100)=10(1+0.4)=10×1.4=14 ΩR_{100}=10\left(1+0.004\times100\right)=10(1+0.4)=10\times1.4=14\ \Omega
