(i) A−BA - B
(ii) B−AB - A
(iii) A△BA \triangle B
(iv) A′A' and B′B'
(v) whether AA and BB are disjoint.

(i) A−BA - B: elements in AA but not BB. A={1,2,3,4,5}A=\{1,2,3,4,5\}; removing 44 and 55 (which are also in BB) leaves {1,2,3}\{1,2,3\}.

(ii) B−AB - A: elements in BB but not AA. B={4,5,6,7,8}B=\{4,5,6,7,8\}; removing 44 and 55 (also in AA) leaves {6,7,8}\{6,7,8\}.

(iii) A△BA \triangle B: combine A−BA-B and B−AB-A: {1,2,3}∪{6,7,8}={1,2,3,6,7,8}\{1,2,3\} \cup \{6,7,8\} = \{1,2,3,6,7,8\} — the shared elements 4,54,5 are deliberately excluded.

(iv) Complements. A′=U−A={1,…,10}−{1,2,3,4,5}={6,7,8,9,10}A' = U - A = \{1,\dots,10\} - \{1,2,3,4,5\} = \{6,7,8,9,10\}. B′=U−B={1,…,10}−{4,5,6,7,8}={1,2,3,9,10}B' = U - B = \{1,\dots,10\} - \{4,5,6,7,8\} = \{1,2,3,9,10\}. …
