Step 1: Choose a route already known very well — for instance, the walk from the school gate to home, and mentally identify four distinct, easily visualised points along it in order: the school gate, the bus stop, the corner near the post-box, and the neighbour's gate just before reaching home.
Step 2: Attach the first errand to the first location — imagine a vivid image of the library book sitting right at the school gate, perhaps propped open against the gate post.
