Step 1 — Cost of Material Consumed = Opening stock + Purchases − Closing stock

= ₹40,000 + ₹6,20,000 − ₹60,000 = ₹6,00,000

Step 2 — Average Stock = (Opening stock + Closing stock) ÷ 2
