Direct Labour Hour Rate = Overhead ÷ Direct labour hours; overhead is then charged per labour hour a job takes.

Overhead absorbed by a job = Direct Labour Hour Rate × Direct labour hours spent on that job. It is fairer than a wage-percentage method when wage rates differ among workers, because it relates overhead to time (hours) rather than to money wages.
