Fayol's Principle of Remuneration (Fair Remuneration to Personnel) means employees must be paid fair, adequate and satisfactory wages that keep both the organisation and its workers happy.

Henri Fayol, the 'Father of Modern Management', gave fourteen principles of management. One of them is the Principle of Remuneration of Personnel, a topic every Maharashtra HSC OCM student prepares (the same Fayol principles appear in NCERT/CBSE Business Studies).

According to this principle, the remuneration paid to employees — in the form of wages, salary, allowances and other benefits — should be fair, reasonable and satisfactory to both the employees and the organisation. While fixing remuneration, the management should consider factors such as the cost of living, the ability of the firm to pay, the nature and difficulty of the work, and prevailing wage rates in the industry.
