Gene therapy supplies a correct copy of a defective gene to treat inherited disorders such as SCID, haemophilia and cystic fibrosis.

Gene therapy is a technique in which a normal, functional gene is introduced into the cells of a patient to compensate for a defective or missing gene responsible for a genetic disorder.
