EVALUATION
The end-of-unit evaluation, structured in the standard four parts used throughout the TN Physics Volume 2 textbook: Section I, 15 Multiple Choice Questions with an answer key printed at the end, spanning the entire unit from the meaning of internal energy after a hot bath through to refrigerator coefficients of performance; Section II, 48 Short Answer Questions, mostly definitions and short derivation/statement questions (define specific heat capacity, state the zeroth law, state Clausius's and Kelvin-Planck's statements, and so on); Section III, 24 Long Answer Questions, requiring fuller explanations and derivations (deriving the work done in isothermal/adiabatic processes, deriving Meyer's relation, explaining the working of a refrigerator, and so on); and Section IV, 15 numerical and graphical Exercises, requiring the formulas developed across the unit to be applied to genuinely …
