Mode of transmission in amoebiasis: Amoebiasis (amoebic dysentery) is caused by the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica. Houseflies act as mechanical carriers, transferring cysts from faecal matter to exposed food, which is another common route of transmission. Poor sanitation and contaminated drinking water are major risk factors.
