Ch 7Wireless Communication — 2nd PUC Electronics, concept-first.
Wireless communication is the part of electronics that lets us carry information from one place to another without any physical wire joining the two ends — the message instead rides on radio waves that travel through free space. This chapter of the Karnataka 2nd PUC Electronics course builds that idea up step by step.

Noise Figure and Noise Ratio
The noise ratio is the SNR at a system's input divided by the SNR at its output, and the noise figure is that ratio expressed in decibels; both measure how much noise a stage adds.

Introduction
Communication is simply the process of exchanging information. Human beings have communicated since the very beginning of mankind, using speech, gestures and writing to share their thoughts, ideas and…
Propagation of radio waves
Propagation refers to the forward travel of radio waves from the transmitter to the receiver. After leaving the transmitting antenna, a radio wave can reach the receiver by one of three basic paths:
Ionosphere
Radiations, especially ultraviolet rays, coming from the sun cause the gases of the upper atmosphere to ionize — that is, to become electrically charged.
Sky wave propagation
As already mentioned, sky-wave propagation makes use of the ionosphere to refract and reflect radio waves so that they can be sent over long distances (Figure 7.7.a).
Chapter Summary
This chapter introduced wireless communication — the sending of information through free space on radio waves.
