Step 1. Read the mass number A directly from each substance's name (e.g. 'Carbon-14' means A=14).

Step 2. Look up each element's atomic number Z from the periodic table: carbon Z=6, lead Z=82, chlorine Z=17, uranium Z=92, oxygen Z=8, radium Z=88.
