Boiling point = temperature where vapour pressure equals atmospheric pressure; molar mass from ΔTf\Delta T_f uses M2=1000Kfw2/(ΔTfw1)M_2 = 1000 K_f w_2/(\Delta T_f w_1).

The boiling point of a liquid is defined as the temperature at which its vapour pressure becomes equal to the external (atmospheric) pressure, so that bubbles of vapour can form throughout the bulk of the liquid.

When a non-volatile solute is dissolved in a solvent, the freezing point of the solution is lower than that of the pure solvent; this depression, ΔTf\Delta T_f, is proportional to the molality of the solution: ΔTf=Kf×m\Delta T_f = K_f \times m, where KfK_f is the molal freezing-point depression constant of the solvent and mm is the molality.
