(Article 32) has the strongest claim to being the "most important," because it is the mechanism
that makes every other right actually enforceable rather than merely stated.
Article 32 gives every citizen the right to move the Supreme Court directly whenever any Fundamental
Right is violated, and empowers the Court to issue writs -- habeas corpus, mandamus, prohibition,
quo warranto, and certiorari -- to enforce that right in practice. Dr B.R. Ambedkar himself called
this provision "the heart and soul" of the Constitution, precisely because a right that cannot be
enforced offers little real protection: Machal Lalung's fifty-four years in custody without trial is
exactly what can happen when the machinery to enforce a right is absent, ignored, or inaccessible.
Other rights -- the Right to Equality, the Right to Freedom, the Right against Exploitation -- each
protect something essential in its own domain, and a case could reasonably be made for any of them.
