The marketing mix is the set of controllable marketing tools a business blends together to satisfy its target customers and achieve its objectives, commonly summarised as the 4 P's:

  1. Product — what the business offers to satisfy the customer's need: the physical item plus its quality, features, design, branding, packaging, and after-sale service.
  2. Price — the amount the customer must pay, balancing production/marketing cost, customer-perceived value, competitors' prices, and the firm's profit objective.
  3. Place — how and where the product reaches the customer: the distribution channel(s) used, plus transport, warehousing, and geographic coverage.
