Disorders related to Adrenal cortex : Two named disorders arise specifically from the adrenal cortex. Hyposecretion of both mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids causes Addison's disease, marked by low blood sugar, low blood Na+ and high blood K+, increased loss of Na+ and water in urine, and consequent weight loss, weakness, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
