A value is assigned to a variable with the = operator, ending in a semicolon.
The assignment operator = copies the value on its right into the variable named on its left. The general form places the variable name first, then =, then the value or expression, and ends the statement with a semicolon. A variable may also be given a value when it is declared (initialisation).
