Q.What is an operator?

An operator is a symbol that tells the computer to perform a specific operation on one or more values, called operands. C is rich in operators, which is one reason it is so powerful. They are grouped by the kind of work they do:

1. Arithmetic operators - + - * / %
2. Relational operators - < > <= >= == !=
3. Logical operators - && || !
4. Assignment operators - = and the compound forms like +=
5. Increment / decrement operators - ++ --
6. Bitwise operators - & | ^ ~ << >>
