Bluetooth block diagram: antenna → RF transceiver ↔ transceiver module, supported by an RF clock circuit/buffer, an application processor (UART) and a power supply.
A Bluetooth transceiver is available as a single chip that interfaces to the device it is part of. Its block diagram shows the following parts and their interconnections:
- Bluetooth antenna — receives and transmits the 2.4 GHz signals; it feeds down to the RF transceiver.
- Bluetooth RF transceiver — the radio front end; it is connected (two-way) to the central transceiver module.
- Bluetooth transceiver module — the heart of the system, which handles the Bluetooth link and connects to all the other blocks.
- RF clock circuit and clock buffer — provide the timing/clock signal to the module.
- Application processor — connected to the module by UART signals; it runs the embedded application that makes the device part of the Personal Area Network.
- Power supply — supplies power to the transceiver module and the application processor. …
