Malpighian body = glomerulus (capillary tuft) enclosed by Bowman's capsule.

The Malpighian body (renal corpuscle) is the filtration unit located at the beginning of each nephron, in the renal cortex. It has two components: (1) the Glomerulus, a coiled tuft/bundle of blood capillaries formed by the afferent arteriole branching repeatedly as it enters the corpuscle; blood leaves via the efferent arteriole, which is narrower than the afferent arteriole, keeping the glomerular capillaries under relatively high pressure to drive filtration. (2) Bowman's capsule, a cup-shaped, double-walled structure that surrounds the glomerulus; its inner wall is made of specialised cells called podocytes, which wrap closely around the glomerular capillaries and have filtration slits allowing fluid, small solutes, and wastes (but not blood cells or large proteins) to pass throug …
